WHAT'S ON IN BALLINA?
Built at the mouth of the Richmond River is the town of Ballina with more waterways and beaches than most towns on this coastline. There’s great fishing everywhere especially at Flat Rock and Angels Beach where you can also catch a surf on one of the many white sand beaches. Ballina Missingham Farmers Market is on every Sunday. Pick up fresh fruit, vegetables, and other produce directly from the grower. At Farmers Markets and organic markets, customers can talk to the farmer directly about the produce and farming methods.

SEABIRD RESCUE CENTER
Visit the Australian Seabird Rescue centre for a wonderful and educational time for the whole family. Amazing eye opening display on marine plastics and a tour of the Ballina Byron Sea Turtle Hospital. Book this not to be missed tour! Tours are for ten or more guests and cost $7 per person.

With over 32 kilometres of coastline to choose from, it’s easy to find the ideal swimming or surfing spot in Ballina.There are calm sandy beaches and shoals on the banks of the Richmond River, rising swells perfect for a body bash at one of the many beaches and there are often perfect barrels rolling of North Wall.
There are beaches that allow four wheel drive vehicle access and some that allow dogs and horses. Local operators offer horse riding on isolated beaches, both north and south of Ballina. It's the stuff that postcards are made of.

NAVAL & MARITIME MUSEUM
Ballina Naval and Maritime Museum is home to a stunning collection of history and memorabilia. These include the last remaining Las Balsas expedition raft which travelled from Ecuador to Australia forty years ago, the largest collection of ship models in Australia, rare and unique shipwreck items, and the fascinating history of the Port of Ballina.
The museum features DVD showings and interactive displays - perfect for the kids - as well as plenty to keep the adults interested such as recreated scenes from naval vessels, a tribute to women in the navy, and an extensive collection of naval uniforms.There’s a souvenir and gift shop.

KIDS LEARN TO FISH
Kids aged eight to fourteen years old get to learn to fish safely and responsibly with experienced instructors from Industry and Investment NSW. Kids learn how to tie knots and rigs, handle and identify fishing and learn how to cast, followed by a lunch, then fishing. As part of the price each child receives a good quality rod and reel, tackle box, shirt, wide brimmed hat and information show bag.
The day runs from 9am-1pm.

BALLINA POOL & WATERSLIDE
Ballina Swimming Pool & Water Slide is a great day for the kids. It also helps to maintain your fitness while holidaying in the area.

BALLINA COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL
Come to the 2019 Ballina Country Music Festiva! A three day festival with over 30 acts providing free entertainment on six stages in various venue locations throughout Ballina.
This years festival will commence with a Festival Benefit Concert and a Major Feature Concert with all other acts over the weekend free to the public. On Sat Cherry Street to be closed from 10am – 4 pm with artists, street market stalls, food stalls and children's activities.
Situated in a scenic location on the south side of Missingham Bridge with a fantastic view of the water. This park is soo much fun to skate with multiple transfers, hips, spines, bowled sections and even a bit of street thrown in for good measure.
The spines are just over 4 foot with bigger sections scattered about the place. New vert bowl extension, keyhole bowl around 6 foot with 8 foot vert deep end.

BALLINA PRAWN FESTIVAL
Set on the banks of the Richmond River, the Ballina Prawn Festival is a whole day and night of tasting delicious sizzling prawns, buzzing crowds, and amusement rides, the Ballina Prawn Festival is great fun for young and old. There are entertaining activities such as the hilarious Las Balsas Raft Race, sandcastle building, a skateboard competition, and speed prawn shelling.
